Did the test use really the latest alsa-driver snapshot below?   ftp://ftp.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/people/tiwai/snapshot/alsa-driver-snapshot.tar.gz
In this latest one, sony-assamd will be already taken for the tester'slaptop automatically even without model option.
Anyway, please give alsa-info.sh output with the latest driver ifthere is still a problem.
