It's true for dedicated HDMI codec chip.  But, right now it's mixedfor the HDMI routing from the analog codec chip.  This should be fixedin future.

It's either an SPDIF or an HDMI output.
Turn on "IEC958 Playback Switch", and just try to play something fromthe default device.
