Segmentation faults with alsa-lib 1.2.10

Greetings,

After upgrading from alsa-lib 1.2.9 to 1.2.10 I am not receiving segmentation
faults; both the speaker-test program and (external) mpg123 produce faults. (I
suspect it is affecting my browser as well.)

gdb gives SIGSEGV produced by the sndl_pcm_direct_hw_refine function in
/usr/lib/libasound.so.2 for both speaker-test and mpg123.

I've reverted to 1.2.9 and have no issues. I also tested 1.2.8, again with no
issues.
