Yes, unfortunately the DaVinci ASoC changes were done based on DMA work that is not yet available in DaVinci git or mainline. A month or so back, I posted to the davinci list saying I have a branch available where folks can play with ASoC until I get the DMA merge sorted out. That branch is here[1], but has not been updated to the latest asoc-dev tree.
