Please make all appropriate documentation available on your web site,
and post a link to them on this list. We can then take a copy and add
it to our own datasheet stores at
ftp://ftp.alsa-project.org/pub/datasheets

We would generally need the datasheet for your chip, together with the
platform specific details, so as to save us having to reverse engineer
the platforms, because as you say, the HDA is a more generic
interface, with different platforms using it is different ways.

Then, anyone in the open source community is then able to add ALSA
support and fix ALSA bugs in order to support your chips and
platforms.

This approach is far more efficient that giving the datasheets to just
one developer.
We have a lack of ALSA developers currently, so having all the
necessary data up front saves a lot of time.

If you wish to add any priority with regard to what gets added first,
I suggest you provide some sort of sponsorship in the way of bounties
and donated hardware.

I develop support for Creative cards, and donations of hardware from
Creative have been particularly helpful there.
