Well the reason that I bought the cmipci card was because on board sound does not work. It looks as if everything is working, I can toy around with the mixer settings as much as I want. Still no sound. Tried multiple appls from commandline based mp3blaster to vlc and Rhythmbox. All are utterly convinced that they have a great soundcard but no sound. I can plugin an USB headset and it works just fine with both.
