I use alsa1.11 I tried with an USB HeadSet, and it worked perfectly... In fact it was even too loud. I did that test to check that my alsa installation was working fine. So Alsa is working, but not on the notebook speakers nor at an audible level through S/PDIF. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- adrian_r - 07-26-06 17:48 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- I would like to report the same problem on a Packard Bell Easynote V7912, with Ubuntu Dapper. I also installed alsa 1.0.12rc1 and tried all the hda_intel models but without any success. I tried changing switches and settings with the hda_intel test model, but didn't manage to improve on the barely audible sound on the headphones (I have only tested with desktop sound events and with some I can hear a faint sound of something, and with others not). Thank you Adrian.
