I personally don't mind as long as the patch can be applied cleanly to
HG repo.

Submit both patches to here but separately.  We'll push them together
to ALSA git tree later.

If a certain change is inevitablly necessary in the kernel, we need
anyway to detect it via configure script and disable/patch the driver
appropriately for older kernels in alsa-driver tree.
