Officials say the Mesaba Airlines plane, which was headed to Watertown and then Minneapolis, had left the airport shortly after 7 a.m. Cory Hoffrogge, coordinator of the Pierre Airport Fire and Rescue Squad, says the pilot reported a few minutes later that an engine had failed and that the plane was returning to Pierre. Hoffrogge says it is standard procedure that when one engine fails, the plane must return to the airport. The plane landed about 10-15 minutes later without incident. Pierre Police Office Leasa McFarling says law enforcement, fire and ambulance crews were dispatched to the airport as a precaution. A handful of passengers, who had been on board, left the plane. The flight was canceled. <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> If you wish to unsubscribe from the AIRLINE List, please send an E-mail to: "listserv@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx".
