At least 15 domestic Air New Zealand flights - nine departures and six arrivals - have been cancelled after fog rolled in shortly after midday. Several other flights have been delayed, but the airport was still officially open. International flights have also been disrupted, with the 3.35pm Air New Zealand flight to Brisbane cancelled, and one flight from Melbourne re-directed to Auckland, along with a Qantas flight from Sydney. An Invercargill to Wellington flight was forced to land at Palmerston North instead.
