Ear= ly reports are that as many as seven people may have been on board the priv= ate jet when it crashed. The crash came on the tail end of a severe storm s= ystem that roared through Steele County and much of southern Minnesota this= morning. At the same time the plane crash was reported, an automobile accident was r= eported on the southbound lanes of Interstate 35 at the Steele County line = that backed up traffic to the city of Faribault. Tornado sirens blasted in = Owatonna shortly before 9 a.m. The warning was canceled at about 9:10 a.m. = Emergency personnel responded to reports of downed trees and power lines in= both Owatonna and Medford. A tree reportedly hit a gas line on Cedar Avenu= e South in Owatonna.
