CO unveils new lie-flat =0ABusinessFirst seat=0ACO today announced details =
of a new =0A180-degree lie-flat seat for the BusinessFirst cabin on its Boe=
ing 787, 777 and =0A757 aircraft. Customers will begin seeing lie-flats sea=
ts on Boeing 777 aircraft =0Athat primarily serve trans-Atlantic and trans-=
Pacific routes in the fall of =0A2009, with installation on CO=92s 757-200 =
fleet beginning in 2010 and on its =0ABoeing 787 fleet as the aircraft are =
delivered to CO. =0AUnveiled today at the National Business =0ATravel Assoc=
iation (NBTA) International Convention and Exposition in Los =0AAngeles, th=
e new 180-degree lie-flat seats are the centerpiece of CO's =0Aaward-winnin=
g BusinessFirst service that provides the extra space and fine =0Aamenities=
 of traditional international first class at a business class =0Aprice.=0AL=
arry was in Los Angeles Monday and talked =0Ato reporters about the new sea=
ts. =0A=93Continental continues to invest in its =0Aproduct to make flying =
more comfortable for our global customers,=94 said Larry.  =0A=93We created=
 a brand-new seat designed to lie completely flat, without =0Acompromising =
functionality or effective use of cabin space.=94=0AMore than 35 major medi=
a outlets covered =0Athe seat unveiling at NBTA Monday, including NBC, USAT=
oday, and The Wall Street =0AJournal. Also, reporters from all over the wor=
ld, including Brazil, =0AJapan, China, Israel, France and the United Kingdo=
m were present. =0ACO=92s new BusinessFirst seats allow =0Acustomers to lie=
 completely flat, reclining 180-degrees and providing 6 =BD feet =0A(2 mete=
rs) of sleeping space in the fully extended position on its widebody =0Aair=
craft.  The lie-flat seat is one of the widest business-class seats in the =
=0Aair, measuring up to 25 inches when the adjustable armrest is positioned=
 flush =0Awith the seat cushion, allowing customers to sleep more comfortab=
ly.  =0AElectronic =93one-touch=94 controls enable =0Acustomers to easily m=
ove the seats to pre-set upright, cradle and fully extended =0Asleep positi=
ons and additional controls allow customers to adjust the seat back, =0Alum=
bar support and leg and foot rests to the custom position most comfortable =
=0Afor them.=0AThe lie-flat seats provide more individual =0Astorage space =
for personal items. Laptop power, headset and USB plugs are =0Aconveniently=
 tucked above the customer=92s shoulder. There is additional storage =0Aund=
er the ottoman, on a shelf under the monitor and on an amenity storage alco=
ve =0Athat provides room for small personal items such as a book or magazin=
e and a =0Awater bottle.=0AiPod connectivity will also be available at =0At=
he seat, allowing each customer to view their personal videos and enjoy the=
ir =0Amusic, all while the iPod is charging. BusinessFirst seats on the 787=
 and 777 =0Aaircraft will feature a 15.4-inch video monitor for customers t=
o enjoy on-demand =0Amovies, music and games.  Seats on the 757 aircraft wi=
ll feature 10.6-inch =0Amonitors.
