Back in the mid '70's actually before I went to work for DL, I flew the Delta-Pan Am ATL-IAD-LHR (Pan Am) 747 up to Dulles. The upper deck was configured for FC (or was it business class?) but the ATL-IAD segment evidently was not sold upstairs. Myself and a BA Employee learned of this and enjoyed our trip on the upper deck. There wasn't any service, but it was still pretty cool. I had ridden on a 747 before, but this was my first time upstairs.
