The demolit= ion, and the resulting reduction of available gates, was part of the Wright= Amendment compromise. =0AThe lawsuit also states that the agreement interf= ered with a $100 million deal Love Terminal Partners and Virginia Aerospace= had to lease its six gates at Love Field to Pinnacle Airlines. The city of= Dallas said publicly that it wasn't going to use those gates for commercia= l flights, a declaration that ruined the Pinnacle deal, according to the pl= aintiffs. =0AThe Wright compromise, forged last year between the entities b= eing sued, became the basis for the Wright Amendment Reform Act of 2006. Th= e act called for the reduction of gates at Love field to 20 from 32, with t= he city of Dallas bulldozing the terminal owned by Love Terminal Partners. = =0AThe Wright Amendment was a 1978 federal law that restricted flights from= Dallas Love Field to within Texas and a few bordering and surrounding stat= es.
