No mechanical error in Brazil air crash--Airbus=0AThu Aug 9, 2007 9:16PM BS= T=0A =0AEmail This Article |Print This Article | RSS=0A[-] Text [+] BRASILI= A, Aug 9 (Reuters) - An Airbus (EAD.PA: Quote, Profile, Research) A320 airl= iner that crashed in Sao Paulo last month killing 199 people had shown no s= igns of mechanical or computer error, a company official told Brazil's Cong= ress on Thursday.=0AThe aircraft operated by Brazil's biggest carrier, TAM = Linhas Aereas (TAMM4.SA: Quote, Profile, Research)(TAM.N: Quote, Profile, R= esearch) overshot a wet runway at Congonhas airport, crashed into a cargo t= erminal and gas station and exploded into a ball of fire.=0A"There was no m= echanical error or malfunction of the computers on board," Yannick Malinge,= Airbus vice-president for flight safety, told a congressional committee in= vestigating an ongoing aviation crisis in Brazil.
