TEL AVIV (MarketWatch) - Boeing Co., the Chicago aerospace giant, closed a $2.8 billion sale of 10 model 747-8 freighters to Emirates Air of Dubai.
Boeing (BA: news) had previously attributed the sale on its Website to an unidentified customer.

Emirates SkyCargo, the air-freight division of Emirates Air, will take delivery of the first of the planes in 2010. The airline also has ordered eight Boeing 777 freighters with deliveries beginning in 2008.
The model 747-8 is powered by General Electric's (GE: news) new GEnx engines, Boeing said.
