Airlines inch higher as crude dips below $70 a barrel 9:47:51 AM ET 6/13/2006 SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Mesa Air Group (MESA) shares added 4% to $9.04 on Tuesday, leading an advance in the airline sector as the price of crude oil drifted below $70 a barrel. The Amex Airline Index ($XAL) added 1% to 46.46 points, with every issue in the 10-component benchmark moving higher with the exception of Alaska Air Group (ALK), which fell fractionally. Other notable gains came from AirTran Holdings (AAI), up 3.6%, and Continental Airlines (CAL), rising 2.4%.
