American Airlines Jet Makes Emergency Landing In Newark,NJ Thursday March 30, 12:58 PM EST NEW YORK (AP)--An American Airlines flight bound for Chicago experienced engine trouble after lifting off Thursday from La Guardia Airport and was forced to make an emergency landing in Newark, N.J. The jet touched down safely just past noon at Newark Liberty International Airport, according to Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Arlene Murray. No one was injured.
