Rather than post two e-mails, I'll combine into one: 1. Did a little airfare searching as I thought my ladyfriend and I would be off to MCI for a few days (Mon - Wed) in March. Had to seriously debate flying from Fort Wayne (FWA) or IND, as the IND fare was $121 round trip on WN or NW and $185 from FWA on NW, UA, or AA. She decided not to go for now, but we'll go later in the year. Those fares were really great though. 2. My Uncle and Aunt recently did SEA-DTW-MIA-MSP-SEA on NW. On the return MIA-MSP-SEA itinerary, their flight from MIA was in the air when the pilot announced they were returning to MIA with one reverse thruster failed (A320). Plane landed without incident (however, with the usual cadre of emergency vehicles flanking the runway). Once they taxied to the gate, NW kept all passengers on the plane for four hours while they fixed the problem at the gate. Once airborne again, they made it to MSP at 2300 instead of 1800. My Uncle reports that NW put them up in a "fleabag" Days Inn, 25 miles from MSP. It was so lovely that they had to ask the night manger to come by and replace both beddings, as each had blood (!) stains on it. The only compensation they received was finding exit-row seats on the subsequent day 757 flight from MSP->SEA. Questions? Comments? Blaine Thompson Fort Wayne, IN
