United's gate approach procedure

Sitting here in the Red Carpet Lounge at DFW and noted an A320
approaching the gate.

The right engine has been shutdown several minutes before arriving at
the gate. As I type, the luggage crew are fishing the bags out of
the hold.

Meanwhile, the left engine is still turning.

About 3 minutes later, the jetbridge is put into place.

Is this United's approach for accelerating the stop-time?

Doesn't Southwest do this as well?
