The "no fly list," like a lot of the crap sponsored by the TSA, is a joke.
It's all a facade to make us feel secure.  I won't feel secure until the
government gets out of a business that it knows nothing about - security.

Who pays for AirTransat's extra fuel/crew time?

Imagine if Canada enacted it's own (similarly poorly maintained) no-
fly list and forced every flight from the US to Europe or Asia to
circumvent our air-space when someone with a suspicious name (no
confirmation of identity mind you.)

Do you think there would be an outrage?

Imagine American Airlines flying DFW-LHR having to avoid Canadian
airspace? I don't even think there is the range in a 763 to do it.
