I answered the question "When does April, 2006 booking become available on Southwest.com?" below. I _know_ about the services that will auto-watch their website, etc., but he's not interested in those. Please comment on the answer and correct/add any information, as I'd appreciate knowing it. Many thanks! Blaine Thompson FWA ---------- Forwarded message ---------- It's completely random. Let's explain: Southwest is a different bird (no pun) in that when they make a schedule for xx/xx/2006 -> xx/xx/2006, that schedule is IN STONE. It never changes (whereas, your United itinerary might change a time or two in the x months between when you book the flight and the departure date. Get my point?) Ergo, the folks in SWA Scheduling and planning take their time in setting that schedule just right. The schedule is influenced by several factors: * Load (How full is that aircraft? That affects how many planes must fly into/out of said city. Most airlines increase/decrease their departures maybe once a year, at minimum...Southwest evaluates and adjusts that figure with every schedule they publish.) * Planes (A careful guess of planes due in for regular service versus some variable of planes that might need unscheduled maintenance. Plus any injuries from planes that end up in major metropolitan roadways.) * Destinations (Examples: They're adding Denver, so that requires planes, and service to New Orelans is increasing again...) I'll start checking SWA daily and once I see something, I'll be on the red phone to you. - Blaine
