As a matter of historical interest only, in the early '80s when I was President of the Long Island RailRoad, I had a handshake agreement wiith the Director of Aviation at Islip that if I electrified the rails to Ronkonkoma Station, adjacent to ISP, he would move the then small terminal to become an intermodal hub when ISP expanded. We did our part, with high speed service (by US standards) from Penn Station in 59 minutes, but the terminal never moved! I mentioned this in a conversation with Herb Kelleher soon after Southwest started service, which led to some classic Herb comments on the supposed shuttle service from the station to the terminal. I suspect that if the intermodal connection existed today, ISP would have many more flights.

Is ISP (Islip, NY) still mostly prop in-and-out? I see only DL (CRJ from
ATL) and WN (from MDW) as the only CRJ or Jet service. I thought AA was
running CRJ's from BOS too. Unless I'm missing something?
