Hi

I think that the gear is unable to retract with the wheels on that position,
so flying with that gear down would led to a slow and low flight and I'm
sure they would not be able to arrive to their destination, so (and the
weather at KLAX was perfect) they have done everything for sure anf their
decision proved to be right!
