The initial climb shown on CNN wasn't quite that of a DC9, but it wasn't all 
that much short of it.   Of course, its TOW wasn't very high.  They said 
less than 900,000 pounds.

Why should A340 be underpowered with four engines when the A330 flies ok on 
two?  They're the same airplane, aren't they?
