FORT WORTH, Texas (AP)--American Airlines and sister carrier American Eagle say they will increase flights at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, where chief rival Delta Air Lines Inc. (DAL) disbanded its hub last month.

American and Eagle said Monday that their bookings at DFW have increased more than 12% since Delta Air Lines began reducing flights there. American and American Eagle are part of AMR Corp. (AMR).

As a result, American and Eagle for the third time raised the number of flights they plan to add at their home airport to a combined 839 daily departures by July.

In September, American and Eagle announced they would add 70 daily departures at DFW by summer 2005, then increased the figure to 90 new flights a day. Monday's announcement would mean 119 more daily flights than the carriers operated in July 2004.

The increases were spread across 61 routes from DFW, including additional American flights to Los Angeles, New York, Chicago and Boston. Also, regional carrier Eagle will add 11 cities that it previously didn't serve.

By July, American will operate 550 flights a day at DFW, an increase of 45 from a year earlier. Eagle will fly 289 flights a day, an increase of 74.

AMR shares rose 5 cents, or 0.5%, to $9.23 recently, while Delta shares rose 19 cents, or 3.4%, to $5.83.
