Some transatlantic questions

I have a business trip scheduled for late January in Ireland. It's only
a few days, but I also plan to visit some friends elsewhere in Europe.
Hence some questions for recent transatlantic travelers:

1. Who's got the best business class service across the pond (to either
London or Dublin)? (Afraid I have to eliminate Virgin Atlantic and
possibly BA; Virgin calls "Upper Class" a business-class service in the
GDS's, but it's priced like First, and BA Club World appears similar
although their plans also have "real" F.) I'd prefer Star Alliance (UA,
AC, bmi) but would abandon them for really exceptional service.

2. In specific, UA vs. AC. I've done transatlantic on UA business
class many times; it's a known quantity. AC is a little cheaper (I'm
not paying, but it would win me brownie points with client) but it
involves a change of plane in Vancouver or Calgary for me coming from
SFO. Anyone been on an AC long-haul to Europe recently?

3. What's the best site to find the least-cost business class open jaw
ticket? Ideally I'd go to Dublin and return from London, but if that's
not feasible I can just connect to Dublin on bmi (which seems better
than Ryanair and is Star Alliance to boot).

Thanks,
