Olympic Flight to London Diverted After Threat, Airline Says
Oct. 4 (Bloomberg) -- An Olympic Airlines SA flight from Athens to London was diverted to the Greek island of Corfu after a threatening phone call, the airline said. The security alert was the third involving an Olympic plane in about a week.

Flight 265, with 210 passengers and a 10-member crew, was diverted to Corfu after taking off from Athens at 7:25 p.m. Greek time, Athens-based Olympic said in an e-mailed statement. The plane was diverted to the island after a threatening phone call was made to the airline's reservations section, the company said.

The flight is expected to resume to Heathrow later, the airline said.

Two Olympic Airlines flights from Athens to New York were diverted to the U.K and Ireland last week after separate calls to newspapers warning that there was a bomb aboard. A search of the planes on both occasions found no explosive device.
