F/As are trained in basic first aid and know how to deal with emergency situations quite well. Given the things they are trained to do now, I think that the training would be roughly equivalent to an EMT. Michael and Alireza have posed a good question as far as I can see. At one time the stews had to have a nursing certificate, Why couldn't they have one certified stew on all long distance planes?
