AS used a B722 on their service to Russia, I think. They could have used a
B732 and stopped for fuel in Nome or Bethel. They have stations in both places
and maintain fuel farms there. The MD80's were a pain in the neck. That
aircrafts cold climate problems really limit them. We only see one or two MD80's
per day, even in the summer.
