Regional jet veers off D/FW runway

A regional connector flight arriving from Oklahoma City veered off a =
runway at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport just after 10 a.m. =
Friday. Four passengers were slightly hurt, airport officials said.=20

The plane, Delta Connection Flight 6490 operated by Chautauqua Airlines, =
was carrying a full load of 38 passengers and three crew members, said =
airline spokeswoman Tanya Wagner in Atlanta.=20

One passenger was taken to Harris Methodist HEB Hospital with minor =
injuries. Three other passengers were treated at the scene for =
unspecified minor injuries, D/FW spokesman David Maga=F1a said.=20

Passengers were taken by bus to the terminal to continue their journeys. =


The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating but has not yet =
determined what happened to the Embraer ERJ-135 twin-engine jet.=20

The airport was closed for 5 minutes after the incident. Runway 13-R was =
still shut down at mid-afternoon, but was expected to reopen by 5:30 =
p.m.=20

After some minor flight delays, schedules returned to normal by 10:45 =
a.m.=20

Chautauqua Airlines also provides regional service for United Airlines =
and US Airways with a fleet of 85 small jets.=20
