Dear Friends This is from The Straits Times of 5 May. Enjoy! begin==> GUANGZHOU - A Chinese man who was flying for the first time caused a stir when he opened the aircraft's emergency door and climbed onto its wing 'to get some fresh air' while waiting to disembark. The man, who was not identified, was travelling with a tour group from southern Hunan province and was waiting to get off the China Southern Airlines aircraft after it landed in Shenzhen on Sunday, Yangcheng Evening News reported. As the cabin crew was busy with other passengers, the man grew impatient and opened the aircraft's left emergency exit door to go outside and cool off, the newspaper said. A flight stewardess later discovered the door opened and spotted the man, who was wearing a red cap emblazoned with his tour agency's name, squatting on the plane's wing. She quickly alerted the captain, who chided the man for ignoring safety warning signs and said he could be liable for huge compensation costs if the inflatable raft used for emergency escape was opened as a result of his rash act. He needed to get some fresh air, the man reportedly said. <==end
