You guys who say "cattle car type of boarding" have evidently never flown Southwest. In the many flights I have taken, the boarding has always been orderly. As far as seats are concerned: just because you can reserve a particular seat does not mean you will necessarily get a good seat. If you make a reservation on one of the so-called legacy airlines, and you make it within a few days of the flight, the odds are good that you will not get the exact seat you want. With Southwest, if I don't like the looks of the person seated next to me (or do like the looks of the cute lady there), I can chose another seat without any hassles. I've said it before and I'll say it again: Put down Southwest all you want. All I know is that they must be doing something right or else they wouldn't be making so much money.
