Cargo. Pretty much any LY flight in the 8 series or involving a 7-4 and Amsterdam is a cargo movement. Remember, also, that their 742s are a bit, uh, heavier than the usual owing to some aftermarket equipment, so they make way more tech stops than would otherwise be expected. El Al put TLV->NYC in the schedule as non-stop, but anyone who's anyone who's ever flown that route westbound on a 747-200 knows that nonstop is just a suggestion, and you were just as likely to see scenic Brussels, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Montreal, or wherever before you actually got to New York.
