Almost all of their ground equipment, check-in desks, collateral etc.
currently use the heavy sans-serif type face version of their logo, and
faded blue United "U".

Actually, one of the only part of the United corporate identity that
DIDN'T use the 'look' is their sans-serif logoed planes.

So in a way, they are simply catching up.
