(U= ALAQ) said on Monday it scrapped a regional service deal tied to Mesa Air= lines' proposed acquisition of Atlantic Coast Airlines Holdings Inc. (ACA= I) because of government scrutiny of the merger. United said it remains committed to its Dulles hub, but because of the un= certainty surrounding the Mesa-Atlantic situation, it will focus on other= alternatives and end its nonbinding memorandum of understanding with Mes= a.
