Continental suspended its second flight in November 2000 after the start = of a Palestinian uprising hurt travel to Israel. Continental, which will use Boeing 777 aircraft on the route, is the only= U.S. airline to offer nonstop service between the United States and Isra= el. American Airlines (AMR) opted to halt service on the route when it took o= ver TWA, which operated daily nonstops for decades, while Tower Air went = bankrupt and Delta (DAL) stopped its service from JFK immediately after S= eptember 11, 2001. National carrier El Al Israel Airlines (ELAL) also ope= rates daily nonstops between Tel Aviv and the United States.
