Richard Branson, founder of the Virgin Group Ltd.,
said his low-cost U.S. airline should get off the
ground in July, 2004 as Virgin USA. Branson's brand
should copy successful low-fare carriers such as
JetBlue and Southwest. Virgin USA "will be a fully
frilled, low-cost airline, and not a low-cost,
low-cost airline," Branson said. "We most likely won't
fly on routes that Southwest and JetBlue fly because
they're doing a good job. But there are lots of routes
around America that still need a good value airline."
