NEW YORK, Oct 1 (Reuters) - Continental Airlines (CAL

) said on Wednesday its load factor, or the percentage of seats filled
on its planes, was 72.3 percent in September, up 4.4 percentage points
from the same month last year.
The company said its on-time arrival rate was 78.1 percent in September.
Its operational results were adversely affected by a month-long runway
resurfacing project at Newark Liberty International Airport and by
Hurricane Isabel.
