The strike affected flights to and from Germany. Passengers affected by the walkout were rebooked on other flights. The airline group wants to reduce the amount it pays pilots directly and in benefits by 35 percent. Pilots say the demands are unacceptable. Airline management said it would sue the union for damages caused by the strike, state broadcaster ORF reported. AUA pilots went on strike for two hours on Aug. 14 in an action that led to delays, but no cancellations.
