What if Richard Reid tried to detonate his shoe bomb in a lavatory?  =

people still have noticed?  Perhaps a bit harder then.

Why is it unreasonable to keep everyone but ticketed passengers outside =
of
the boarding area?  It was relatively unique to American aviation in the
first place.  Granted, screening anyone going into the boarding area =
should
catch any and all malicious items.  But, why take the chance?  Why place =
a
larger burden on security?

Well, not letting people visit and pick up at the gate.  It is not like =
they
can get on a plane.  Also, making people take their shoes off at the =
check
point.  Remember, C4 can't be lighted on fire and people will notice =
someone
trying to put a charge in their chose
