A bit of trivia for you:
The LAX runways are not nearly parallel but are in fact actually parallel.
They are numbered differently to make it easier for air traffic control.
headings for runways 6 and 7 are 69 degree magnetic
headings for runways 24 and 25 are 249 magnetic
