Yeah..the KC-135 strength stood ar 500-600 airc at one time. But when you spread it out to refueling bases (and their crews)..100 is really that many. For Instance let's say you break them into units of 10. 10 at Andersen in Guam. 10 at Kadena, 10 at Diego Garcia and 10 at Yokota that covers the Pacific/Indian Ocean that's 40 airc. 10 at Elmendorf or the other Alaskan base, 10 at a Washington state base (McChord or the other one) or at Travis, 10 at each Hill AFB, PHX ANGB, Dyess AFB or at least one base in Texas, MKE Wisc ANGB, K. I. Sawyer AFB, Griffths AFB or a Mass ANGB base, McGuire AFB, Seymour Johnson AFB and/or any in SC/Georgia/Florida. Now that doesn't even begin cover the Atlantic/European/Mid East bases or support systems. Perhaps with the reliabilty ratings on the 767s...they'll break them down into units of 5 or six..and spread them thinner! greg
