LONDON (AP) -- British Airways said Thursday it would give away hundreds of tickets to fly on Concorde before the supersonic jet retires in October.

The airline announced a drawing open to United Kingdom residents only for 325 pairs of tickets for seats on Concorde's farewell tour the week of Oct. 20. The tour includes visits to Birmingham and Manchester in England; Cardiff, Wales; Edinburgh, Scotland; and Belfast, Northern Ireland.

British Airways and Air France are retiring their Concorde fleets, and Air France made its last scheduled flight May 30. Both companies say they cannot afford the plane's maintenance.

The Concorde has served executives and celebrities since 1976.
