United names two execs to board CHICAGO (AP) =97 United Airlines named two new outside directors to its= board=20 Tuesday. Board members Richard McCormick and John Van de Kamp are retiring= =20 from the board after nearly 10 years, United said. They are being replaced= =20 by executives Robert S. "Steve" Miller Jr. and George Weiksner Jr. United=20 has now added three board members in less than a month as it proceeds with= =20 its Chapter 11 bankruptcy restructuring. Dipak Jain, a marketing expert and= =20 dean of the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, was=20 named to the board May 27. Miller, 61, is the former chairman and chief=20 executive of Bethlehem Steel Corp., which emerged from Chapter 11=20 bankruptcy this year. He also played a central role in the financial=20 recovery of Chrysler Corp. in 1980 and participated in several other=20 turnarounds, United said. Weiksner, 58, is vice chairman of Latin American= =20 operations for Credit Suisse First Boston Corp. and has three decades of=20 global investment banking experience.
