AC doesn't (normally) use the 747s to Europe. (Mostly 763s and the odd A330s now.) And even for routes to Heathrow, the cargo handling capacity is limited compared to dedicated cargo ports. I'm guessing not much cargo is going YVR->Europe, and eastern canadian cargo would mostly want to come out of Toronto or Montreal. But for those two cities the traffic is quite high where frequency is king. Hence 763s. The 340s/330s do some transcon, and the Asian flying out of Vancouver. Cargo is not traveling to airports like Narita or (I think) the new Seoul airport. Squeezes the use of the 744 Combi's further. Fairly good decision in the end I guess.
