South American carrier wants bigger Caribbean presence One little-known South American airline is trying to boost its presence in the lucrative Caribbean market. Surinam Airways is starting weekly flights to Aruba and Haiti this month, the company said Thursday. The airline already has regular flights from Suriname to Brazil, Guyana, Curacao, Trinidad and Barbados.
