Winnipeg Airports Authority Welcomes Expansion of Passenger Services by
United Express with New Twice Daily Non-stop Jet Service to Chicago

WINNIPEG, June 12 /CNW/ - Winnipeg Airports Authority Inc. today welcomed
the inaugural flights to and from Chicago O'Hare International Airport by
United Express, regional partner of United Airlines.
"This new service confirms the opportunity this market represents to
U.S.- based carriers," said Barry Rempel, WAA President and CEO. "Winnipeg's
strong local market and vacation travel support this type of access to
important hub cities. From Chicago, these new flights offer efficient
connections to more than 55 destinations in United's network."
"United Airlines is very pleased with the success of our Winnipeg-Denver
service introduced last year," said Rebecca Rozario, Marketing and
Communications with United Airlines Canada. "Adding new service to Chicago
complements our Denver service and connects Winnipeg with our two largest hubs
in the United States."
The United Express service is in addition to the twice daily service
offered by United's Star Alliance partner Air Canada, for a total of four
flights daily to and from Chicago. The flights are operated by United Express
partner carrier Air Wisconsin using a 50-seat Canadair Regional Jet (CRJ).
United Airlines offers more than 1,700 flights a day on a route network
that spans the globe. News releases and other information about United may be
found at the company's website united.ca.
Winnipeg International Airport is connected to 37 non-stop domestic and
international destinations including 12 daily flights to 3 U.S. hubs (Chicago,
Minneapolis and Denver). Up-to-date flight information and company news can be
