Still dont understand how Boeing / Douglas missed the boat on this one. Hundreds of small jets with 50-75-90 seats are being sold and the worlds largest and argueabley best designer and builder of commercail airplanes are left in the dust. With their engineering and building capabilities why wasnt , for instance the original DC9 re built with modern instruments and engines etc? Seems it would be less expensive for Boeing modernize this type of old and well proven designe and sell them than for the RJ manufacturers to design and build from scratch. Those "important, over-educated and overpaid ' executives never saw this comming? Dennis
