Considering that we are not having rain in Southern California currently, I am guessing that the thunderstorms are somewhere else in the country, and they need the plane at LAX as opposed to John Wayne. SNA only has service to a few destinations, while LAX is a hub that probably needs that plane as it cannot get it from somewhere else
